One of my good girlfriends was recently in Mexico and snapped a picture of her extremely burnt legs. This inspired me to do some research on the best products and remedies for sun exposed skin. One great tip I came across is dabbing plain greek yogurt on the burn and leaving it on for 10-15 minutes. This step can be repeated 2-3 times on the first day of the burn. After gently rinsing the greek yogurt off, apply an aloe vera lotion. Continue to apply throughout the next couple of days.
Since greek yogurt shouldn't be packed in your suitcase, here are 6 products that will help soothe and rehydrate your skin if you get a little too much sun on your next vacation.
Make sure to rehydrate with plenty of water after a day in the sun.
It is always best to avoid getting a sunburn, so wear plenty of SPF the next time you are out having fun in the sun. I have fair skin, so I have to be very careful and although I am getting better, I will admit, I usually forget to re-apply at least once in the summer or on vacation!
Do you have a favourite product or at home remedy for sun burnt skin?
