Mason Jar Apple & Pear Crisp
This weekend we are going to Saltspring Island with a few friends. I love planning meals for a weekend away, but usually I don't plan anything for dessert. This week I started to think of different desserts I could pre-make. At first I was going to make cupcakes, but then I thought of baking individual apple crisps and storing them in mason jars. I roughly followed this recipe from Martha Stewart for the crisp. I added pears to mine and halved the amount of apples that the recipe calls for. Also, after not being sure on if I could actually bake in my mason jars, I decided to go the safe route and bake it in a regular dish then transfer it over. I baked a little extra crumble to be able to sprinkle on top for presentation.
