This week I sat down with my friend and Earrings & Stuff owner Sarah Huguet, to talk about her company and her Holiday style tips. Here is what she had to say!
Katie: Tell us a bit about your company.
Sarah: Earrings & Stuff is an online boutique for fashion jewelry, with every occasion in mind. From handcrafted personalized pieces to that big statement necklace my ultimate goal is to have something for every type of girl out there. Who doesn’t want a little sparkle in their life?
K: Why did you decide to go into the Jewelry business?
S: I’ve always had a huge passion for jewelry and accessories in general. Being in the serving industry for many years and being stuck with an all black dress code made me find creative ways to portray my style.
K: Where does the name Earrings & Stuff come from?
S: Honestly, do you know how hard it is to find a domain name? It was a major decision because once you get it you are stuck with it. I ended up thinking it was a cute playful name that left the door open to grow my business in other areas of the fashion world.
K: What inspires your style?
S: I love old school glamour so I am always drawn towards vintage style, basically anything with pearls and I’m in! I have recently also been attracted to boho style jewelry which has inspired most of the necklaces I’ve been making.
K: What are your style tips for the Holiday season?
S: For a more glam outfit (sparkly dress), always go with earrings and rings. For the go-to LBD, play it up with a statement necklace.
K: What accessories will you never leave the house without?
S: For me honestly everything! I usually tend to pile on bracelets, rings, earrings and a necklace! I tend to have the attitude, the more the better, which I know may be intimating to some but for me it works.
K: What would be in your Holiday Gift Guide?
S: For jewelry I would say you can’t go wrong with a longer style necklace such as The Meadow Necklace or a personalized hand stamped necklace is always a hit. If you have a sparkly friend The Charlotte Necklace has a great vintage feel! Also this year I am really into turban inspired head pieces, they look so chic. Another great option is a coffee table book, there are lots of fashion books out there that are great to have for inspiration. Number one on my list is “Love x Style x Life” by Garance Dore. Not only is the cover a nice soft pink but Garance Dore shares stories on life, love, style and her career from Paris to New York.
