Carry-On Travel Essentials

We are starting 2016 with a two week vacation to Antigua. I am so excited since it is my first time traveling to the Caribbean. We will be sailing from Antigua to St. Barts with a few stops along the way. Since we won't be in a hotel where there is room for a large suitcase I had to be clever packing. Here are a few staples I am bringing in my carry-on...

Bronze Winged Eyeliner

Confession, ever since I created this bronze cat-eye look for Jill from The August diaries, I have rocked it on myself for practically every Holiday party I've attended. There is something so simplistic yet elegant about this bronze eyeliner. I just can't get enough. Take a look below at the third look in the Holiday Makeup Tutorial Series photographed by Britney Gill...

Had Too Much Fun Last Night? 5 Steps To Jump Start Your Beauty Recovery

It happens to the best of us, one after work cocktail at happy hour leads to crawling into bed at 2am. Usually for me it's when I am catching up with a close girlfriend and we get caught up in the convo before realizing it is 1am and we have had more than just a glass of wine each. Then you wake up the next day feeling oh so wonderful but have to go on with the day regardless, because going back to bed isn't an option. For times like these a good post-late night action plan is all you need to help you get back to feeling great or at least get you through the day.  Here are my 5 steps to jump start your beauty recovery after a late night...

Blue + Burgundy

I have so much love for this bride! When I met Christie back in January we had such a great time chatting during her trial, I instantly was excited for her August wedding. My team and I had an amazing time with Christie and her bridesmaids the morning of the wedding day. They were all so sweet and gorgeous! Take a peek below at the stunning photos by Whitney Krutzfeldt and florals by Garden Party Flowers...

Why You Should Be Using Face Masks

I have always been aware of my skins appearance, mainly due to bad breakouts that started at a young age. Then once I got into makeup I really took notice of the texture of my skin and how it looked with foundation or powder. Something I didn't always pay attention to was any of the extras after cleansing, moisturizing and occasionally toning. Then I turned 32 this year and, well to put it bluntly, I started freaking out about aging. Now don't get me wrong, 32 is not old but I think now it is time for me really to add certain skincare steps to my routine as a preventative step.  Coming up over the next few months I will be writing more about skincare as I learn about and discover new products...

Deep Red Lips

I first met Jill this summer while I was doing makeup for her good friend (and one of my favourite brides) wedding.  She was so nice to chat with and a natural beauty, so of course I couldn't wait to do her makeup again!  Here is a look at one of three Holiday looks we created, photographed by Britney Gill...

Function Health Club: How to Lighten Up the Holidays

It’s that time of year again when Starbucks has all of their holiday drinks and the calendar is filled with parties to attend.  I love the holidays but I don’t like that feeling you get after they are finished, when you realize the parties replaced your cardio routine and all you have been lifting is a cranberry bliss bar...

Bridal Beauty: Rose Gold Eyes

After prepping the skin with Caudalie's Beauty Elixir and cream, I then applied the Original Laura Mercier Primer.  I applied the Make Up For Ever HD foundation with my Beauty Blender and concealed with the Giorgio Armani High Precision concealer. Next I set with a translucent powder and contoured the cheekbones with matte bronzer.  For a pop of colour I used a pink blush and highlighted the skin with Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder...

For the second time I had the pleasure of doing makeup for Lover's Tempo jewelry collection.  We shot this Fall/Winter lookbook during one of the hottest days of the summer so it was a bit of a challenge to get into the fall mood but the team nailed it.  I love the feel of this whole collection, the jewelry pieces are delicate with rich tones of burgundy and blue, perfect for fall and holiday season...
